Why This Blog???

Eye On Paychex is NOT attempting in any way to damage the business of Paychex. In fact, most customers I speak with have many good things to say about the company and its services.

The purpose of this blog is to shine a spotlight on "Employee Experience" of working for Paychex.

You see, Paychex makes a LOT of noise about how they are ranked by Forbes magazine as one of the Top 100 Best Companies to Work For. But the truth is not quite so rosy.

I am convinced that many good people have accepted or are seeking employment with Paychex becasue they are certain that this is a "Great Place to Work". This is blatently untrue and is unfair to the current and future employees of the company.

So, through this blog, we will explore what it is REALLY like to work at Paychex. We will look at the good (the training is excellent) and the bad (absurd policies).

All readers are encouraged to participate by posting, or, if you prefer, email your comments to me at eyeonpaychex@gmail.comand I will post them for you.

ALL POSTINGS WILL BE ANONYMOUS!!!

Paychex Dirty Little Secret!!!

Are you ready for this?

Paychex does NOT process its own payroll!!!

That's right! Paychex does not trust its own company to pay its people!

They use Fidelity for payroll processing!!!

Could you imagine the CEO of Ford not trusting their own product with the safety of their family and therefore driving a Volvo?

How about the CEO of Bank of America not trusting the security of BOA and therefore banking with Wachovia?

Paychex, one of the largest payroll processing companies in the country, uses a third party to process their own payroll!!!

WOW!!!

A conflict of interest exists when employees have access to the very payroll systems that create their paycheck. Outsourcing eliminates this threat.

It has nothing to do with the quality of their own product.

For the same reasons, the CEO of BoA should NOT be allowed to bank with BoA!

Agree with Scrumple, I don't want "Suzy in Accounting" to know how much (or little!) I make compared to those in the rest of the department, not to mention all the personal information that would be accessible.

Eye on Paychex... what a joke this guy is. If he really worked at Paychex he would know that the main product they sell is designed for small businesses. Even major markets are only equipped to really handle up to 5,000 or so employees. 12,000 + employees is hardly a small business, therefore it requires a service with other capabilities. Great analogy though of Henry Ford. So if he bought a private jet to fly around the country on and it wasnt manufactured in one of his plants then....
